My journey of having large breasts and how I care for them

Being a 40-something woman and having large, voluptuous breast with no stretch marks - is almost un-heard of. And I get asked all the time what my secret is.

And my secret isn't something I was searching for. It was a result of my lifestyle choices and moving to a tropical climate.

I started wearing bras since the time I first grew breasts at age 14 and had worn them consistently until my late 20's. I believed my breasts would sag and get stretch marks without good support as that is what I was told from every woman I knew growing up.

It was also shameful in my community for a girl with breasts my size to not wear a bra. I felt completely self-conscious without a bra. This was just a part of my normal life and I never questioned why I had to wear one.

My lifestyle changed when I traveled to Thailand

When I traveled to Thailand for the first time in winter of 2007, the climate was much hotter than in Canada and I adapted quickly to the beach life of wearing bikinis. I wore a lot of loose dresses and just felt more comfortable without a traditional underwire bra. They were just too hot.

I was also starting to practice a lot of Vinyasa yoga at this time, and the constant Chaturangas helped to build the pectoral muscles around my breasts. As a result, my boobs got a little perkier!

I noticed the difference in my beautiful bosoms when I got back to Canada

The following summer I returned to Whistler, Canada to work in luxury spas as a beauty therapist. This was a very professional environment with high-profile guests and was NOT the atmosphere for a bra-less hippie look. I needed to wear a bra again.

But my breasts had changed size and shape over the previous few months of being 'set free.' They were much fuller and rounder and my old bras didn’t fit anymore. I found the underwire so painful for offering massage. I switched to sports bras for work and mostly freestyle at home and this helped a lot for comfort.

I discovered Breast Massage Practice in a Tantra Workshop in Thailand

A few years later, during another winter season in Thailand, I discovered Jade Egg & Feminine Embodiment practices in a Tantra workshop. I was introduced to the Taoist and practice of breast massage and learned all about the wonderful ways to care for my breasts as part of a self-care and self-love routine.

I started to see the results on my own body organically that my breasts looked and felt better when i didn't wear bras and took care of them, even with them being larger than the average woman's. And the small stretch marks that formed as a teenager while my breasts were growing have all disappeared since I started to take better care.

Out of curiosity, I dove deeper into researching health advice about wearing bras and found that a lot of Western advertising has led women to believe that wearing bras will prevent breasts from sagging. However, there is no medical research to back up these claims. Our breasts are not made of muscle, they are only partially supported by muscle, so keeping them perky with the use of a bra is impossible.

Our bodacious boobies are meant to move freely, bounce and jiggle with our movement. This frees up the lymph to move and blood to circulate healthily; allowing our beautiful breasts to develop their own natural support.

How To Do Breast Massage

Start with finding a perfect oil with a silky texture. My favourite massage oils are organic coconut or almond oil. Grape seed oil is one of the best for healing stretch marks because of its regenerative properties.

Infuse your oil with your favourite essential oil. Rose oil resonates with the heart chakra and lavender has a calming effect; I find lavender perfect for helping me sleep.

Light some candles and warm the oil between your hands by rubbing them together vigorously. Gently massage inwards and upwards with a circular motions.
